Hoplite (ISSN 1755-4381; eISSN 1755-439X) is a peer-reviewed annual periodical published by Markoulakis Publications, UK. It focuses on a broad, but at the same time, specialized area of Greek military history that stretches from the early Neolithic period to the modern times military records.
Articles are been divided into the following main categories:
1. Wars & Battles, which is sub-divided to further categories such as follows: Modern Wars, World War I, World War II, Medieval Wars, Ancient Wars; The may purpose and thematic of this category is to provide material that will present conflict events of these periods, which may include causes & means, units, figures and an overall historical background. On many occasions such article will may included to Military History category.
2. Armour & Tactics: The articles available under this category will examine in detail military unites used by the Greek military forces throughout history. It is essential contributors to provide such detail as our illustrators to be able to reproduce a comprehensive picture of the unit(s) discussed.
3. Military History: The category will include mainly bibliographical and historical based research material.
4. News: This section will include events and announcements which have interest on the subject / thematic of our periodical and a variety of featured material such as books, authors, documentaries and film reviews, visits and presentation of military museums in Greece and interviews of figures that are shaping Greek military history’s research.
The periodical does not accept advertisements and does not advertise commercial material in electronic and / or in print version.
